All the latest from the South Holland Centre, Spalding
With just two weeks to go until the kids break up from school, here’s a run-down of what you can do at the South Holland Centre over half term.
‘See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Say No Evil’ – the throng of three very wise monkeys indeed. Hiccup Theatre have taken this classic proverb and brought it to life with live music, puppetry and mischievous storytelling.
The resulting colourful show takes place on the Centre’s main stage on Wednesday, February 18 at 2pm and is suitable for children aged three to seven and their families.
Tickets are £6, or £22 for a family ticket. Ticket holders can come along from 12.30pm for some free monkey mask-making and storytelling.
Budding movie-makers can spend the day with professionals at our Stop Frame Animation Workshop on Thursday, February 19.
In celebration of the upcoming Shaun the Sheep movie (which we are showing during the Easter holidays), eight to 14 year olds can come and make a movie of their own – sheepish or otherwise! The price is £15 per child for the whole day, 10am to 3.30pm.
Everyone’s favourite marmalade-eating bear, Paddington, will be on the big screen almost every day during the holidays– from Friday 13 to Thursday 19.
And there’s another bout of epic fun in Night at the Museum 3 from Monday 16. Both movies are rated PG.
Then there’s a real treat in store for over 10s on Saturday, February 21 when we have two screenings of Robert Louis Stephenson’s famous adventure story Treasure Island, recorded live from the London stage.
From what we’ve seen, the colourful, magnificent and clever sets will surely add to the magic that we have come to expect from these National Theatre Live productions. Not to be missed!
For full details of screening times, please visit our website www.southholland centre.co.uk, pick up a film guide, or call the box office on 01775 764777... and if you want to make a day of it, look out for the special children’s menu running in our first floor café bar all week.
