Spalding and District Gymnast Academy boosted by National Lottery grant

A sports group has been awarded £2,500 by the National Lottery.

Spalding and District Gymnast Academy, which is based at Cradge Bank, used the money to hold Zoom sessions for children during lockdown.

The academy, which was founded in 1978 by Alec Harding, is looking forward to holding daily classes for youngsters once restrictions are lifted.

Alec said: “This is important because it helped our gymnastics family stay connected and active. Now, thanks to National Lottery players we were able to reopen with eager gymnasts longing to get back in the gym.”

Lynn Bell, committee member, said: “The funding was a great help with keeping this amazing club together when they couldn’t be together.”
