Outstanding success for Spalding Academy gymnasts

Gymnasts from Spalding Academy made a clean sweep of success at the Lincolnshire Schools Floor and Vault Competition in Grantham.

Both the Under 13 and the Under 16 girls won the team competition and individual gymnasts from Spalding Academy also enjoyed success.

In the Individual level 1 U16 competition, which was out of 25 competitors, Lara Portela came first, Vilte Bernotaite (competing up an age group) second, Mia Hallam third, Nikola Lipinska fourth, Sophie-Louise De-Camp sixth and Emar Payne eighth.

The U13 Individual level 1 and 2 involved 71 competitors and was won by Dija Eirosiute, with Angelika Kendra second, Weronika Ragan third and Eveline Cale and Grace Walters joint fourth. Lily Kelk also won the level 2 category.

The school thanked Mrs Ringrose, who assists Miss Ringrose with the gymnastics club, and also parents who give permission for their daughters to stay after school to train.
