Three Counties Deli and Coffee Shop in Long Sutton is celebrating after scooping a Great Taste award for the second year running.

The Hoddings Way deli was awarded a 1-star Great Taste award for its apple-smoked rare breed loin bacon after winning awards for its rare breed sausage rolls and spicy rare breed sausage rolls last year.

Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers.

As well as a badge of honour, the black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to a wonderful tasting product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind-tasting by hundreds of judges.

Co-owner Anthony Bowen said: “The great taste logo and the earning of a great taste award has become the bench mark for the best food producers in the country.

“The award validates the ethos that the great work we’ve been doing and the efforts that we’ve made in trying to give our customers the best of everything.

“We feel that when a customer orders a ‘humble’ bacon sandwich they should be getting the best that we can give them.”
