Great home cooked food, a warm friendly atmosphere and quality service are the key ingredients to Italian restaurant Amici’s continued success, according to its owner.
Despite celebrating the Vine Street eatery’s tenth anniversary later this year, owner and chef Ivan Pastore is constantly striving to improve customers’ dining experiences.
“Trip Advisor currently has us as the number one restaurant in Spalding, and we’re also quite high up in the rankings in Lincolnshire for Italian restaurants too, but we’re always looking for ways to make improvements,” he says.
“We’ve had a few changes recently with new menus, new linen tablecloths, the décor as well as improvements in the quality of the food and the service and the feedback so far has been good.”
Amici offers a wide selection of delicious starters, mouth-watering mains and heavenly desserts, and alongside its evening a la carte selection there’s also a two-course lunchtime menu for £10.95, including the option to pick a pasta and your favourite sauce to accompany it as well as other dishes.
“The menu caters for traditional Italian cuisine as well as some specialty dishes that you may not find in other Italian restaurants,” added Ivan.
“But for those who like to be a bit more adventurous there are lots of other dishes to try. People expect pizza and pasta, and while we do those, we also have lots of fresh fish and fresh meat dishes which are also an integral part of the menu. Everything we make is all about using quality ingredients and everything ordered here is prepared and cooked fresh on site.”
Ivan took over Amici in 2006, refurbishing the interior to create extra dining space as well as improving the equipment in the kitchen.
Other services introduced include online booking and email newsletters to customers offering exclusive discounts and offers.
“When you walk into the restaurant there’s a really nice atmosphere.
“A lot of the reviews we receive comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the quality of the location, service and food – we spend a lot of time on social media and Facebook and even reply to our Trip Advisor reviews thanking people for their feedback and taking the time to leave comments, as a lot of our business comes through word of mouth.
“If you haven’t visited Amici for some time, now’s a good time to come back and see us.”
