Trustees at the Market House Community Centre in Long Sutton are celebrating after receiving £6,000 of grants to replace the weather-beaten wagon arch doors at the rear of the building.

The community development grants have been given by Lincolnshire County Council and South Holland District Council to replace the the attractive door which has taken the full force of the weather since this community building was renovated in 2004.

The funding is enabling the Market House Trust to replace the door in the same style and colour but in aluminium and also double glazed. This will really improve the comfort of those using the large attractive Corn Exchange room by cutting out drafts and making the door easy to open by users and volunteers.

The Trust is making a contribution towards the total cost of the doors as well and the trustees and volunteers would like to thank all those members of the local community who have come to support fundraising events such as the Indian Pop up supper, tractor rally, concerts, table top sales and much more .

The work on the replacing the wagon arch doors will begin shortly.
