University Academy Holbeach students test their culinary skills




University Academy Holbeach students put their culinary skills into to the test over half term.

Students were set a challenge to make 3D pancakes using two different fruits and vegetables.

Year 9's Alessia Santucci Y9, who made 3D pancake tacos while Year 7 student Nicola Gaik Y7 created a couple of pancake designs using different fruits. Paige Hasler Stephens also combined her 3D creation with Valentines Day.

Youngsters had to bake a celebration cake, cup cakes, biscuits, colourful breads, pastry or pizzas using the theme of ‘Under the Sea’ to decorate them. An outstanding entrant wasa from Year 8 student Emily Day who made a layered cake and decorated her cake beautifully with homemade Under the Sea figures.

The final contest saw pupils select a range of ingredients to create a beautiful piece of artwork in their bread.

Arthur Water Y7 created a beautifully decorated focaccia.
