Tydd St Mary Primary pupils enjoy a global music concert

Children at Tydd St Mary Primary School were entertained by musicians from around the world at a special concert.

Performers from Musiko Musika, who come from the Gambia, Chile, Canada and the UK, introduced youngsters to different musical pieces from around the globe and the chance to play on a range of instruments.

These included the charango, (an instrument of the lute family), the bombo (a Latin American drum) and sikus (traditional Andean panpipes).

Children were also invited to join in clapping various rhythms and sing a lively song about pirates.

The 45-minute concert was arranged through Lincolnshire Music Service.
