LEARN MORETalented young female footballers in south Lincolnshire are being invited to apply for a new scholarship programme.
Youth Dreams Project - co-owned by Deeping Rangers player-coach Luke Steele - is launching its new girls programme in partnership with Stanground Academy in Peterborough and hopes to attract talented youngsters from our area to apply.
The programme starts in September 2022 and is exclusively for girls post 16 looking to further their education.
Education programmes will be taught by highly qualified and experienced school staff, and the coaching programmes delivered by UEFA qualified coaches.
YDP aims to ensure that all students, whether on a Level 2 or Level 3 programme, achieve academic success, develop their sporting talents and prepare for a future career, whether that lies in the sporting field or elsewhere.
Luke Steele, an ex-professional footballer who played for Manchester United, Coventry City, Peterborough United and Nottingham Forest, said: “Since launching YDP we have been wanting to build the reputation of female sport in the city.
“We work with some fantastic female sports people and want to provide the opportunity for young females in the area to follow in their footsteps.”
An open trial event takes place on Monday, December 20, at 1pm at The Stanground Academy, Peterborough Road, Peterborough, PE7 3BY.
