GCSE RESULTS: University Academy Holbeach sees the 'ability, progress and efforts of pupils recognised and rewarded'
Students at the University Academy Holbeach have today been collecting their GCSE exam results at arranged times and to talk about their next steps.
Principal Sheila Paige said: "We are very pleased that the ability, progress and efforts of our pupils have been recognised and aptly rewarded.
"This has been a very stressful time with additional uncertainty due to recent events, as highlighted in the media.
"Our Year 11 students saw their final year of study come to an abrupt end in March. I am proud of the dignity they showed in managing the situation and the positive manner in which they approached their final days at the school.
"Staff have worked hard to provide Centre Assessed Grades, taking into consideration many aspects of each pupil’s learning. Today, our young people have attended the school, at arranged times, to receive their results and to enrol in our Sixth Form and receive further advice where needed about their opportunities and next steps.
"We felt that this is the best that we can manage in light of the current situation and wished to give them the opportunity to speak to staff and to see some fellow pupils, albeit at a distance.
"After such a long summer it is only fitting that our youngsters should be able to move to their next steps with as much ease as is possible. We look forward to seeing many of our pupils returning in September and I should like to wish those who are pursuing other avenues the best of luck."
