GCSE RESULTS: Donington head teacher hopes todays results will allay fears

Students from Thomas Cowley High School in Donington, will now be able to move onto their next stage after finding out their GCSE results.

Head teacher Ian Dawson is hoping that teenagers are happy with their results.

He said: "It’s hard to comprehend the range of emotions, the anxiety and the stress our Year 11 students have had to endure since they left us in March.

"I sincerely hope that today’s results have allayed many of their fears and that they can now progress onto their chosen destinations.

"I’m sure that most students would have wished for a very different ending to their time at Thomas Cowley and that they would have liked to prove themselves in the examination hall rather than receive CAGs.

"We will continue to support our students as further results are revealed in the coming days and we will closely with all of the local Post 16 institutions to make sure each student can progress onto their chosen pathway."
