Moulton lorry driver Dave Copland had persuaded his friend Nick Roden (left) to join him in his eighth trip taking medical and other supplies on behalf of Help Poland Fund.

Mr Copland said: “It’s a worthwhile charity because everything that is donated goes to the people who need it. This charity is important because with all the recent publicity about Bosnia everyone has forgotten about conditions in Poland.”

The lorry had been provided free, Fowler Welch had come up with the green card, and the ferry crossing was also free. U-Haul Lorry Hire provided a lorry trailer unit.
