There’s an easy way to make new friends in Sutton Bridge – by popping out to the free coffee morning at The Curlew Centre.
“It’s about getting people together, bringing the community together,” said coffee morning founder Linda Robinson. “We want to get people out from behind their locked doors.”
The coffee morning runs from 9.30am-11.30am and people who go enjoy cakes and biscuits with cuppas as they chat to fellow residents. Sessions are open to all, from babies to pensioners.
“It’s very informal,” said Linda. “It’s tea, coffee and chat.”
Linda (54) used to work as a special needs teaching assistant, but now devotes her time to helping people in the community.
She became a Christian three years ago and was baptised after being introduced to a church in King’s Lynn.
Linda attends The Curlew Centre’s own informal church, Sutton Connect, from 2.30pm-4pm on Sundays.
There’s also a church youth group, Urban Saints, which meets from 3pm-4pm on Sundays.
