Fresh police appeal after Spalding newsagents’ break-in

Police have confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in their continued hunt for the person or gang who broke into a Spalding newsagents.

About £2,000 worth of cigarettes and a £150 cash was stolen from Classic News in Sheep Market just before midnight on Sunday, January 14.

Those involved forced open a side door on the ground floor and then stole cigarettes out of a closed cabinet, as well as the shop’s cash float.

Enquiries are also ongoing into an attempted break-in at the same shop during the early hours of Monday, January 29.

Intruders smashed an upstairs window but failed to get inside the shop and the crime was reported to police just after 12.20am.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting 370 of January 14 and/or 4 of January 29.
