A BICYCLE marking event is being held in Spalding as part of a countywide campaign to combat theft.
Spalding estates and town neighbourhood policing teams will be postcoding bicycle frames in Hall Place on Saturday, June 16.
Residents are invited to have their bicycles marked next to the cycle rack between 10am and 3pm.
PCSO Ryan Ellis said: “We mark the bikes by writing a postcode on the frame with a UV pen that can only be seen using a UV torch.
“We will also be handing out tracking chips on a first come, first served basis and giving crime prevention advice.”
Police recommend residents should secure their bicycles to a robust structure and choose a well-lit site in view of a CCTV camera if possible.
