Split Whiskers is made up of Gilby Fletcher on vocals and blues harp, Johnny Wright on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, Matt Willshaw on keys, Alex Machell on bass, and Tony Hill on drums.

As their fame spreads, their live gig list gets ever busier, with one or two dates most weekends.

Band members travel all over the country performing in pubs and clubs and festivals, such as the Nantwich Jazz & Blues Festival in March 2016.

When Gilby Fletcher isn’t touring or gigging with Split Whiskers he is running his own fundraising consultancy.

Over a period of something like 17 years he has raised around £10 million for Cambridge University colleges, first as an employee following a degree in communications, and later in a consultancy role.

He says: “I spend part of the year consulting with higher education institutes and the rest of the year touring, playing, writing and recording, which is a fantastic work-life balance.

“It’s a common misconception that they (Cambridge University’s colleges) are rich. I am proud to have raised over 17 years more than £10 million for them.”
