Spalding, Holbeach, Crowland and Long Sutton to Celebrate Love Your Local Market fortnight

The spotlight will be on South Holland’s markets in Spalding, Holbeach, Crowland and Long Sutton over the next fortnight as ‘Love Your Local Market 2019’ takes place from now until May 31.

The national Love Your Local Market campaign is all about attracting new visitors and shoppers to markets and highlighting the important part they play in the local community.

As part of the campaign, South Holland District Council will be showcasing some of the fantastic stalls and products on offer across the district on their social media channels. Photographs and videos from traders and shoppers alike are welcome, and can be sent to communications@sholland.gov.uk or posted on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #LYLM2019.

A South Holland District Council spokesperson said: “Our markets are a crucial aspect of South Holland’s history, and also its future. It’s important to celebrate and recognise the role they play in our communities and Love Your Local Market is the perfect opportunity to do that.

“We want to celebrate the great things our markets and stallholders are doing and ensure that we continue to give them the support they need to develop and flourish, and remain a major attraction for towns across the district.”

Love Your Local Market is led by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) and backed by Central Government and the wider market industry. More information on South Holland’s markets can be found at www.sholland.gov.uk/Markets
