FOCUS ON FITNESS: Lookinh after yourself in lockdown
This is a very strange and difficult time for us all... something that I’m sure a lot of us never thought that we would be going through, especially for a third time.
With dull days and dark nights, our mental health could really take a hit at this time of the year. But I don’t believe that to get through all of this there is “a one size fits all” approach.
Which is why I think that right now it’s important to look after ourselves.
And there has never been a more important time to look after our health and mental wellbeing.
For me, I personally love a goal and something to work towards as it keeps the pressure on slightly which gives me that drive. Plus, itcan also be used as a slight distraction.
If you tell people about that goal then it gives you that accountability and you’re more likely to see it through.
We are what we eat as in what we eat has a huge impact on how we feel. Wether it is in giving us energy or making us feel sluggish and tired.
Staying connected through chatting online, zoom or ringing people is also a crucial part of coping throughout all of this.
Keeping in touch with the people at your gym, doing online HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes and maybe challenging each other are also maybe a few different ways of coping.
Either way, let’s all stick to the rules, support each other and hopefully we will all be through this sooner rather than later.
