FOCUS ON FITNESS: Fitness and mental health
For me the two go hand in hand and from my own personal experience I find throwing myself into that lifestyle the most beneficial.
In the gym everyone is working towards a goal….and that is generally a very positive environment. An environment which can really help you through a difficult time if needed.
The definition of fitness….of course we all aim to be the fittest, healthiest and strongest version that we can possibly be!
But in order to achieve that, yes, you need to work hard at it, be consistent but you also need to have a mental strength.
When we take ourselves outside of our comfort zone and try something new we mostly fail!
So in order to improve we have to put the work in and try try again. Which in turn gives us a mental strength along with the achievements that we are working towards.
That is one reason why I try and challenge myself as much as I possibly can as once you start smashing those goals it’s the best feeling in the world. You make friends and we all support each other…..which is what it’s all about.
Hitting the gym is what saved me when I was going through my own depression so I would strongly suggest that environment.
