For the first time in 400 years, a pair of cranes have bred in the county.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust is thrilled to announce the news, which happened at its Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve off Counter Drain Drove, just west of Spalding.
It is believed that the chick was born on June 2 but the team at the Trust have kept quiet about the news until now in order to give the baby the best chance of survival.
