Merkur Slots has won its bid for a bingo premises licence for the former Dorothy Perkins shop in Spalding.

The firm won the licence following a licensing panel hearing at South Holland District Council this morning.

Merkur previously lost its bid for planning permission for the premises - but is appealing that decision and will need to secure this too before it can open at 32-33 Hall Place.

During the hearing, Merkur revealed its proposed opening hours - after its original plans would have allowed the business to run a 24/7 operation.

The plan is to run the facility from 8am to midnight every day.

The venue would contain 41 gaming machines and 20 bingo tablets.
