Fire at Pecks Drove West involved waste plastic and wood

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say yesterday's fire at Pecks Drove West, Spalding, saw damage to 21x9 metres of waste plastic and wood.

The materials were at a derelict yard.

As we reported yesterday, crews from Spalding, Donington, Crowland and Kirton were called to the fire.

Residents were told to keep their doors and windows closed.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue says there were no injuries.

The blaze was extinguished using two hose reel jets, one foam jet, two rakes and a thermal imaging camera.

UPDATE, Saturday 16:34: Crews from Spalding, Donington, Kirton and Crowland are at the fire, using two hosereels to control and extinguish the fire.

Four fire appliances are currently tackling a large fire in Spalding.

Residents have been advised to stay away from the Pecks Drove West area and keep their doors and windows closed.
