The pint-sized yellow creatures who proved to be the real stars of the first two Despicable Me animations have now got their own
feature film.

Starting at the dawn of time, the movie chronicles the evolution of Minions serving the most despicable of masters – from T-Rex to Dracula – before they end up in 1960s New York, leading them to their next potential employee, Sandra Bullock’s Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first-ever female super-villain.

This triggers an event which gives the likes of Kevin, Stuart and Bob (voiced by Pierre Coffin) their biggest challenge to date – saving all minionkind from annihilation. The voice talents of Steve Carell – as a young Gru – Oscar-nominee Michael Keaton (Birdman), Steve Coogan and Jennifer Saunders, also make an appearance in what will undoubtedly challenge Disney/Pixar’s critically-acclaimed Inside Out as the animation of the summer.
