Teenager from Spalding experiences the character, culture and colour of India




Nine months ago, I undertook what was possibly the biggest adventure of my life so far, and possibly the biggest and most memorable time in my life ever writes Lillian Read.

One day in August 2019, I was stood at London's Heathrow Airport about to go on a ten-hour plane journey to Hyderabad, India, where I would be working with a charity called Project Trust.

Based in the Scottish Hebrides, Project Trust is an educational charity that sends about 300 volunteers to Africa, Asia and Latin America every year, working in some of the world's poorest areas to provide teaching, social care and outdoor assistance.
