A fashion show at Donington’s Ruby Hunt Centre will help keep the village bright and beautiful through the summer.
The event was organised by Donington In Bloom and raised nearly £400 to meet the watering costs of the hanging baskets and planters.
Donington In Bloom chairman Liz Walker said clothes were supplied by Lincs Fashions, based in Lincoln, and around 70 people watched the show.
She said: “There were dresses, trousers, tops, cardigans and jackets, all stuff that’s suitable for this time of year, and they were all good quality brands at large discount prices.”
Donington in Bloom had four golds in a row in East Midlands in Bloom until two years ago, but withdrew from the competition when key players had a series of minor accidents or needed surgery.
But members are keeping Donington looking lovely and Liz says the first hanging baskets are due to go out at the end of May.
