SUPPLIERS of fresh Lincolnshire produce could soon be brought together in Sutton Bridge if a group looking to set up a farmers’ market are successful.
Sutton Bridge parish councillors have unanimously agreed to explore the possibility of a weekly, fortnightly or monthly market through a new working group.
Coun Vicky Hills put the suggestion forward as the council met for its October meeting on Tuesday.
She said: “We could also look to include a continental market and Christmas market as other towns and cities do very successfully.
“I believe that a farmers’ market would add vibrancy to Sutton Bridge and also provide an opportunity for localism. It might put us on the map a little bit further.”
Coun Hills invited members of the public to consider joining the working party.
Coun Simon Booth said he was sure those behind the new community centre would also be keen to support the market if they could.
