Holbeach is celebrating summer with its Holbeach Town & Country Fayre on Saturday and Sunday (10am to 5pm).
It’s a fabulous, fun event for the whole family with everything from displays of vintage and classic tractors, cars and motorcycles to children’s games and fun fair rides.
For classic vehicle enthusiasts there will be hundreds of exhibits on show, so a real treat for petrol heads.
The display ring is where the fascinating action is, with exhibits of falconry, dog agility shows and more, while in the field there are trade stands, a craft tent, food stalls plus a bar.
However, this year’s fayre is boasting a world first, a cabbage hurling competition, the brainchild of Moulton Seas End zany inventor John Ward – see the story right.
Once day becomes night the organisers have planned a superb evening, with live music and other entertainment.
The event is being held at King’s Field on Fen Road, and the organisers have expressed special thanks to Ashley King for the kind use of the land, and also to Simon Naylor of Naylor Farms, for the kind donation of cabbages for the competition.
Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and under 16s are free.
