Keen baker and dressmaker Elsie Gent passed away at Southfield House Care Home in Spalding on Tuesday, August 26, aged 86.
Elsie was born in Spalding and attended the town’s Gleed School. She was employed by Geest Foods, working in the pre-pack area in West Marsh Road until retirement.
Home-maker Elsie was firstly married to Bill Sheriff (deceased) but married again, aged 43, to Patrick Gent, who survives her but is poorly and a resident at Beech Lodge Nursing Home in Holbeach.
She had three children with Bill, who all survive her. They are Trevor Sheriff of Farnborough and Glenis Tennant and Martin Sheriff, both of Spalding.
A funeral took place at Surfleet Crematorium where a collection in aid of Lincolnshire Air Ambulance netted £112.85. Funeral director was J Willson. This was followed by a get-together at Woodlands Hotel in Spalding.
Family mourners were: Mr and Mrs Trevor and Margaret Sheriff, Mrs Glenis Tennant, Mr and Mrs Martin ansd Teresa Sheriff, Mr and Mrs K & M Templeman, Mrs A East, Diane Sheriff and Craig Sheriff, Chloe, Jay and Ethan Ochiltree, Jacob Chadd, Megan and Lucy Wallace.
