Schools across south Lincolnshire joined others all over the Globe in celebrating World Book Day last week.
And it was a double celebration at Gosberton Clough and Risegate Primary on Thursday, with the official opening of their pirate ship play area.
The £5,000 needed for the area has been raised in the space of just a year by the parents, children and teachers.
Pupils were delighted to play on the new equipment while wearing their brilliant fancy dress outfits.
Meanwhile, children also dressed up as their favourite book characters at Holbeach Primary Academy, with Where’s Wally, and Harry Potter characters brushing shoulders with several princesses.
And on Friday, Sutton St James Primary School pupils celebrated their new library, which was officially opened by Christine Hanson, who owns the Bookmark shop in Spalding.
Mums were also invited into school in the morning to see the children in their wonderful costumes.
