Virus forces school closure

AN OUTBREAK of the Norovirus has forced a Spalding school to shut for three days this week.

The contagious “winter vomiting bug” struck a large portion of students and staff at The Garth School over the weekend.

As a result the school decided to close for a “deep clean” and expects to be able to re-open on Thursday.

The Pinchbeck Road school, which caters for children aged 2 to 19 who have learning difficulties, said this is not the first time they have been hit by the bug but this outbreak was unusual because it “hit everyone at once”.
