More than 600 students from 12 schools gathered at Spalding’s Sir John Gleed School for a cross country championships.
As well as hosts Gleed, schools taking part were Spalding High, Deepings, Bourne Academy, Bourne Grammar, Peele from Long Sutton, Boston High, Boston Grammar, Boston’s Haven High, Thomas Cowley from Donington, Thomas Middlecott in Kirton, and Giles from Old Leake.
There were eight races in all for boys and girls in Y7, Y8-9, Y10-11 and Under 19s.
Gleed PE teacher Ian Billinghurst said races were marshalled by staff from participating schools as well as Gleed Post 16 BTEC sport students.
He said: “As a school we were very proud of all our competitors that were selected from their PE lessons and Friday after school cross country club run by PE teachers John Stewart and Jessica Pearce.
“These students also participate in the Fenland Schools Cross Country competition each term.”

Top 15 finishers from each race in the South Lincolnshire Schools’ Sports Association Cross Country Championships will go on to represent South Lincolnshire. Gleed’s top performer was Lee Addison who won the Y8-9 race.
