“If you can dream it, you can do it.” Those words of Walt Disney were echoed by headteacher Glyn Rushton as he bade farewell to his Year Sixes at their leavers celebration.
Staff and parent volunteers at Spalding Parish Church Day School transformed the school hall to fit with this year’s theme of ‘The Mad Hatters Tea Party’.
The children enjoyed dancing, eating and sharing a final evening together before each released an individual balloon to mark them moving on.
The special event followed on from an afternoon earlier in the week of celebrations for parents and family to enjoy tea, coffee and cakes whilst their children shared their memories of school and all they have learnt.
Mr Rushton told the Guardian: “It has been a very sad, yet joyful week for us all and many tears have been shed. However, it is time to move on.
“I wish each and every one of our children good luck, happiness and God’s love for the future.
“Thank you for being a fantastic Year 6.”
