Staff at the Little Stars Pre-School in Surfleet are celebrating after being awarded the Early Years Healthy Childcare Award.

The pre-school, which opened in September on the school grounds, has been working with the Lincolnshire Healthy Schools programme and received the award for “outstanding success and committment in improving the health and well-being of the children, families and staff”.

In order to achieve the award, staff developed the outodor area to provide lots of opportunities for physical play and made sure children were provided with healthy snacks. The pre-school also works closely with families to ensure it is providing the childcare suited to them, and it helps educate children to make healthier lifestyle choices for the future.
