Sir John Gleed School received a commendation for successfully completing its Sky Sports Living For Sport project.

Eighteen students spent two days with their Sky Sports Athlete Mentor, ex-Paralympic world champion swimmer Fran Williamson – and in the next few days they will be working with another star, Britain’s number one female moguls skier Ellie Koyander, having had their latest project accepted.

Pictured with the school’s commendation certificate are three members of the project, Kamila Ronduda, William Pite and Liberty Studd.

Sir John Gleed PE teacher Ian Billinghurst said students enjoyed their time with Fran and working through a number of tasks, including learning about the Sky Sports Six Keys of Success and improving teamwork, communication and confidence skills.

Students designed and created their own sporting activity to teach to primary school children and produced a task card for these. The group then presented these to Spalding Primary School students for a day.

Mr Billinghurst said all Sir John Gleed students were fantastic ambassadors for their school and the Sky Sports project.
