Youngsters at Spalding’s Monkshouse Primary School have turned back the clock to the days of Julius Caesar in their history and geography lessons.
Children from Years 3 and 4 dressed up in Roman costumes for the project which also saw them carry out research on the Roman way of life and culture.

Teacher Laura Harwood said: “We put into action some of the things we learned about the Roman army, with some drills and marching practice.
“They also created models of the Roman Forum, which stands just outside the Colosseum in Rome, a typical Roman building which the children used paper to construct.
“It was a bit like doing our own visit to Rome and it took quite a bit of organisation.
“But the children had a whale of a time and they were grinning from ear to ear.
“It was one of those moments that we wanted to create for them and we hope it’s something that sticks in their minds for the future.”
