There was great excitement at The Deepings School on Thursday as the final pieces of the steel framework of the new science centre were hoisted into position.
The occasion was marked by a number of students, staff and governors writing permanent messages and signatures on the final pieces of steel as a legacy time capsule. They will be encased in the new building, which is taking shape at the school on Park Road, Deeping St James.
The centre is due to open in September and will provide the school with a superb science facility comprising eleven classrooms, a lecture room, study space and associated offices and preparation rooms.
