Entries are now open for the new Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards 2014 and fierce competition is expected in all 12 categories.

Overall awards sponsors Duncan and Toplis Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers is also generously sponsoring the coveted award for Secondary School of the Year where dedication, innovation and hard work will be the key.

Secondary schools across South Holland, Bourne, the Deepings and Greater Boston making a real difference in and to the lives of their students.

Alistair Main, senior manager at Duncan and Toplis, said: “We are delighted to be the main sponsors of the 2014 Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards.

“Duncan and Toplis are also delighted to be the sponsors of the Secondary School of the Year Award as there are some fantastic secondary schools in the area, providing a high calibre of students for work placements, higher education or employment once they had finished school.

“Several members of our team are school governors themselves and, as such, they have seen how secondary schools in the area are leading their students to being the next generation of business leaders.”

The excellence of secondary schools in the area was demonstrated perfectly by this year’s A-level and GCSE results which showed many schools either repeating or exceeding the standards of 2013.

But schools excel in other ways too such as through their involvement in the commuunity, contribution to the environment and sharing of resources and knowledge with other schools.
