Playtime has improved for nursery school pupils in Spalding after a donation from generous building society members.

Wygate Foundation Nursery School has been able to buy new outdoor toys thanks to a £200 grant from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.

The nursery, which is in the grounds of Spalding Primary School, was nominated by colleagues at the Norwich & Peterborough (N&P) Building Society in Spalding, which is part of the Yorkshire foundation.

Kelly Cross, customer advisor at N&P Spalding, said: “Playtime is not just for fun, it is also really important for children’s development.

“We’re delighted the Charitable Foundation has been able to support the nursery school and enable them to buy new equipment.”

In 2015, the Charitable Foundation paid 1,502 donations totalling £392,276 to good causes and charities throughout the UK. Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference® scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities and good causes around the UK.
