INSPECTORS heaped praise on a Long Sutton nursery – judging it to be “outstanding” in all areas.
The Phoenix Montessori Nursery was visited by Ofsted inspectors on June 28 and earned the top grade for all of the 17 categories it was judged on.
Principal Clare Harris said: “I am thrilled. The staff are very highly qualified and have worked extremely hard.
“They have now proved themselves to be truly outstanding.
“We are achieving what we set out to do, which is to provide the highest possible standard of care and education to our young charges to give them a flying start in life.”
The nursery, based in the United Reformed Church, caters for 54 children with up to 26 on site at one time.
The inspector was particularly impressed with the nursery’s management and in her report stated: “The owner and manager have extremely clear vision for the future and, as a result, their ability to maintain continuous improvement is excellent.”
The report also praised the good relationship between staff and parents, the quality and range of equipment on offer, the way children are prepared to develop as learners as they get older and the safety measures in place for children.
