CHILDREN will welcome a royal visitor to officially open their new nursery.

The Duchess of Gloucester will meet the youngsters, staff and special guests at Phoenix Montessori Nursery, at its premises at the United Reformed Church, Long Sutton, on July 7.

The Duchess will be offered biscuits baked by the pupils and listen to them sing.

They will also present her with a picture and invite her to sign the visitors’ book. The official unveiling of the plaque will take place at 3.10pm.

Principal Clare Harris said: “We are so excited that HRH The Duchess of Gloucester has agreed to visit us and very much hope that some of our parents and other local people will take the opportunity to come to the nursery to welcome the duchess on her arrival and to wave her off after her visit.”
