A formal planning application has been submitted to expand Pinchbeck East Primary School so overall pupil numbers can be boosted by 100 to 420.
Moves to expand Pinchbeck East and Spalding Parish Day School were revealed in June with the county council acting to meet growing demand and to ensure that all children find a place at their local school.
The county’s plans for Pinchbeck East include a new, two-classroom extension, a staff room extension and an extension at the front entrance to create a new office.
Outside works include increasing the size of the Key Stage 1 playground, remodelling the existing car park and creating a new staff car park at the side of the playing field at the back of the site along with a new vehicle access from Knight Street.
The plan has been submitted to South Holland District Council.
In a statement supporting the application, the county council says: “This additional accommodation and associated works are required to ensure that sufficient facilities are in place to accommodate up to 420 primary aged children.”
