Students from Spalding’s Post 16 Centre raised more than £200 for Macmillan Cancer Care with a coffee morning.
The event was organised by Katie Kirby (pictured right), who lost her grandad to cancer, and her friends (from left) Jack Cooper, Bethany Ritchie and Holly Barnes.
Katie’s grandfather, Barry Kirby, lost his battle against cancer in May this year when he was 67.
During that difficult time, Katie became aware of the amazing work Macmillan nurses do for all those affected by cancer.
On the morning, the fundraising foursome were delighted by the number of students and teachers who baked cakes for sale and supported the event. Holly also organised a competition for people to guess how many beans were in a jar.
