High school rugby girls go close in tournament

Thomas Cowley High School under 15 girls’ came close to winning a south Lincolnshire schools’ rugby tournament held at Sleaford Rugby Club.

Ten girls from the Donington school took part in the event and their success was remarkable because they only had two training sessions before the tournament.

The team were without the injured Rebekah Clark but still won five of their six matche, only denied a 100 per cent record by drawing with eventual winners Kesteven High School, Sleaford, who went throught to the county championships having scored one more try than Thomas Cowley.

PE teacher Chris Wright said “All the team were excellent.”
