A legal career has moved one step closer for Spalding Grammar School student Declan Donnelly who was amazed to find himself in its GCSE top ten.
He gained two A*s, seven As and four Bs which sets him up to study A-level French, history, law and psychology at the school’s sixth form before going on to do a law degree at university.
Declan (16) of Pinchbeck then plans to qualify as a barrister or solicitor and he said: “I’m really pleased overall and surprised because I didn’t expect to get such a good collection of grades.
“There are a lot of very clever people at this school, so I’m incredibly chuffed to be one of the top ten students here.
“I would have preferred to get higher grades in history and law because they are two of the subjects I want to carry on studying, but overall I’m happy.”
