Christmas was all wrapped up in a shoe box

Elderly people in Bourne had an extra treat at Christmas when grammar school pupils hand delivered present-filled, decorated shoe boxes to their homes.

Students responded generously to the appeal for donated gifts and sixth form students coordinated the project, making sure each of the shoe boxes was filled, wrapped and personalised for either men or women.

As well as taking the gifts to local homes, the students for the first time delivered a number of boxes to Bourne Abbey for guests at the Christmas Day lunch, and were delighted to do their bit for the local community.
