BREAKING NEWS: School buses affected by sewer collapse in Swineshead

Have your say

A COLLAPSED sewer in Swineshead will affect school buses taking children to two schools for the first day of term tomorrow (Wednesday).

Youngsters who live in Swineshead and attend either Thomas Cowley High School, Donington, or Kirton Middlecott School, are being advised of changes to their pick-up point if they usually catch the 5436 Sleafordian service, the S116S Cropleys service or the 5381 operated by May Gurney.

All other services are unaffected.

Lincolnshire County Council transportation manager Anita Ruffle said: “These three school bus services aren’t able to use their normal route, as South Street in Swineshead is closed owing to a collapsed sewer.

“Children who would normally board the bus in Bullen’s Lane or High Green should now make their way to the stop at the Market Place/Church in Swineshead instead to catch their bus.”

The arrangement is expected to be in place for the rest of this week.
