Last week children from Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years went to school dressed as characters from children’s books.

Children arrived at school dressed as characters such as Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Harry Potter.
Mrs Wendy Bell, head of upper school, said: “It was lovely to hear the children explaining to each other who they were and why they had chosen that character.”
The children also took their PE kits to school and took part in a day of sport and sponsored activities to raise money for extra equipment for the school garden, with the school hoping to raise £800.
The school plans to extend the patio area around raised vegetable beds, would like a raised decking area among silver birch trees, benches where the children can read and chat in the shade and a wooden trim trail for children aged 3-11.
Foundation stage children completed sponsored laps of the school during the morning and upper school pupils took part in a disco dancing competition in the garden, with the sun shining.
Mrs Bell said: “I am so proud of all of the children. They understand that they need to persevere when undertaking a sponsored event and can be proud of their achievements.”
