The teacher behind a Donington school’s very own version of popular TV cookery competition MasterChef has now tasted success herself.
Diane Jenney, food technology teacher at Thomas Cowley High School, was named Inspirational Teacher of the Year (Secondary) in a strongly-contested category sponsored by Maples Solicitors.
Mrs Jenney was chosen ahead of Kirsty Chambers, a geography teacher at Bourne Academy, and PE teacher Michael Duggan from Sir John Gleed School, Spalding.
“I can’t believe it and it’s just unbelievable to be working at one of the best secondary schools in the country,” Mrs Jenney said.
“It’s a brilliant school and I just love working there.”
The award was presented by Maples Solicitors’ managing partner Anita Toal who said: “I’m sure these teachers will be inspiring the next generation of lawyers, engineers, architects and accountants.”
