Time to launch the fifth Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian Education Awards for nurseries, pre-schools, primary and secondary schools in south-east Lincolnshire

It is time once again to celebrate the excellence of pre-schools, primary and secondary schools across south-east Lincolnshire.

The Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian are now inviting nominations for our fifth Education Awards to be presented at South Holland Centre, Spalding, on Thursday, July 4, at 7pm.

As in previous years, the awards are open to nurseries, pre-schools, primary and secondary, whether they are academies, independent or local authority-run, across South Holland, the Deepings, Bourne and villages south of Boston.

These include Bicker, Kirton, Sutterton, Swineshead and Wyberton, as well as villages within the South Kesteven area, such as Baston, Deeping St James, Langtoft, Morton and Thurlby.

Also for the fifth time, Duncan and Toplis Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers are headline sponsors for the awards which this year is made up of 11 categories, including one for Pre-School of the Year.

Last year's award was won by Cinder Ash Pre-School, Long Sutton, whose manager Lucy Cooper said: "It was a great honour to receive the title of Pre-School of the Year 2018, an extremely welcome achievement that recognised the changes Cinder Ash Pre-School had made over recent years.

"The award has really boosted staff morale and confirmed to them what a wonderful job they are doing in helping all of our children to learn, play and grow, as well as ensuring that we are consistently progressing and thriving as a setting.

"It was also a great way of celebrating the wonderful work done by our committee of volunteers who are all helping the pre-school to flourish and promoting this in the community of Long Sutton."

Jeremy Ransome, editor of the Free Press and Guardian, said: "We have some wonderful pre-schools, primary and secondary schools in our area, full of committed and dedicated, pupils, students, teachers and support staff.
