Pinchbeck drug driver didn't give blood sample as scared of needles

A Pinchbeck man has told magistrates that he refused to give a blood sample for analysis because he was afraid of needles.

Keiran Worth (24), of Cherry Holt Lane admitted failing to provide the sample after he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, following a positive drugs wipe for cannabis and cocaine.

Prosecutor Sukhdev Bisla told Boston magistrates that Worth was seen driving his BMW car on the A151 and into Holbeach on December 1 and police arrested him after the positive drugs wipe.

He admitted he had taken cocaine the previous night but refused to give a blood sample, saying he was not going to have blood taken from a vein.

Mr Bisla said Worth also had no insurance for the vehicle or a driving licence.

Worth, who was not represented in court, told the magistrates he had been 'stupid' but he didn't like being injected.

He was banned from driving for 15 months and was fined a total of £240 and ordered to pay £119 in court costs and charges.
